Default HSU VTF 2 MK4 vs Rythmik Audio LV12R vs Outlaw LFM 1 Plus

Will be used primarily for HT (80%) and 10% gaming and 10% music. Which of these is better? It's an average sized room. Everyone seems to be raving about the new servo in Rythmik subs. The variable tuning on the HSU seems to be a big plus. Outlaw finish looks great. They all look pretty comparable. Any preference amongst you folks? All also look to have great customer service. Thanks!

With the models you suggested It's a tossup over the Rythmik or the Outlaw Audio LFM-1. Why? Well the Rythmik I heard is very good for music and can go as low as 19hz for deep bass "excellent for movies" but the Outlaw has more output then both, can go louder "has less distortion" and has a lower extension of about 18hz. The HSU has less output compared to both but claims it can go as low as 18hz "ported" ergo the Outlaw will hit harder then both!

All three are very tunable to your preference so that is not a problem with either so since your mainly movies I would go with the Outlaw. It shouldn't disappoint for music neither!

The price of the Outlaw sits in the middle of the HSU and the Rythmik. Looks would go by your preference but the Outlaw with the gloss top looks better?

Thanks for the great reply. I've heard nothing but great things from Rythmik as well as Outlaw. Would there be a noticeable advantage to either one? I know the Outlaw is a down firing that may allow for more placement options.

Well like I said the main difference will be in the output each speaker puts out but there might be some slightly different sound signatures? It's only noticeable if crossed over at higher frequency's. The Outlaw hits harder and goes just as low so that would be my pick "as far as these models go" and for placement issues that shouldn't be a problem because unless you have a huge room and space your mains far apart and even still you would need a speaker with the most output which would be the Outlaw.

I'm content with my HSU even though it's the VTF-15h and that model is a step up from these but the Outlaw would be closest to it for sure! Now if you went for the HSU VTF 3 MK 4 that would be a different story....

There's also models from SVS but the only subs in the $500 dollar range is the SVS SB1000 but that wouldn't be as good as the Outlaw output wise plus it's not ported and it's really small. "ergo Outlaw would kill it!" Things do get interesting when you get into the $700 range....

Actually, SVS does have the PB-1000 for the same price, though it only has a 10" driver

I used to own the Outlaw LFM1-plus and now I own something else (see sig).

I'll say that all 3 are very good choices. It comes down to this for HSU vs Outlaw (Dr. HSU made designed that Outlaw sub) so it comes down to looks between them two IMHO.

As for the Rythmik, all I have to say is "SERVO" technology!!! Man I really like how these amps! It plays wonderful in both music and theater!! No regrets on my purchase.

Everyone seems to love the 12VRs. I really don't think there's any going wrong.
