Nope, I'm the opposite - I'm scratching finding anything to preorder, or even buy. There's still way too much crap and not enough quality releases...the stream of catalogue titles is so thin and new releases are uniformly awful.
The last thing I preordered was Super 8, and I'm even lukewarm on that. Unless Amazon drops the price to something a little more reasonable before Nov 22, I'll probably can it. |

Nah, a lot of my purchases are preorders. For most new releases, if you don't get it on release week then you have to wait like six months to beat that price. Also, Amazon usually offers its best preorder price for about three days after the movie's listing is created, so I try to lock in what I can while keeping my eyes open for sales elsewhere.
I have a few preorders upcoming... Breakfast at Tiffany's from DD for 14.85, Ben-Hur from Amazon.co.uk, which I nabbed when it was still 13 GBP shipped, Jackie Brown for 9.97, Life is Beautiful for 9.97, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind for 10.44. I'm not preordering Rushmore/Dazed & Confused CCs because I'm expecting to pick them up during B&N's November sale, though. |

Yeah, I basically only buy catalogue titles when they come (e.g., the ones I mentioned above, Citizen Kane, Manhunter, Star Wars OT, Scarface, Lebowski, O Brother/Monte Cristo, Coen brothers, etc.). I rarely see movies made in 2010, 2011 that I like enough to own, and I think they all hit theaters during Oscar season (exception: Super 8, but I ain't preordering it for 31.49).

Not one I'd pre-order, and I'm actually a Hal Jordan fan. Instead I'd recommend Attack the Block if you're a fan of sci-fi/horror/comedy movies. It appears it just became available for pre-order based on the front page.

Well, I have Batman: Year One and Mimic Director's Cut pre-ordered.
After that, Rushmore Criterion edition will be ordered closer to release date and I'm really struggling for anything else. Thor's out here 27th Sept and I want that sweet looking steelbook. Pulp Fiction, I'm waiting to see how the disc turns out, as I already own the Polish import. Already have Fast Five, aka Fast And Furious 5 over here. I'll pick up the UK releases of Bridesmaids and Horrible Bosses, when they're in a 2 For £20 offer, or summit. Same goes for Green Lantern. |
