United Kingdom do you think they will *finally* drop the price of star trek when star wars comes out

I have been watching the price of both star trek film collections (original and next) and dispute 24hr quick sales the price has never changed in over 2 years.

I think the price has been ridiculous. £43.99 (for next generation), 5 discs and 4 films... is too much.

I cant think why they have kept it so high for so long, but I am hoping that with star wars being released that we will finally see a price drop, any ideas?

Well personally I don't think it is of any influence! Plus the price for 6 Star Wars movies is also pretty high, 67 pounds or so.

I understand what you mean though, I bought the TNG box 2 years ago for around 35 euros incl. shipping from the US and the TOS box was a sale in The Netherlands 2 years ago, for 65 euro's. So in both cases I think I did not too bad.

Now it's around 100 euro's. Unbelievable how high they keep up these prices. Look at the seasons of TOS, they also stay very expensive, they at least have to drop 15 pounds in order for me to buy them and that will take awhile.

I imagine the only time the prices will drop is when the release them how they should have done the first time round, a bit like Lord of the Rings.

Do you mind me asking what sites you check? as the 1-10 Boxset has been available for £55/60 several times in the last year, picked it up myself from Zavvi the last time it was on offer.

I check zavvii/hut, hmv, amazon, the hut and whilst they do one off drop prices of the 1-10 or original set, they never do a permanent drop.

The only problem with waiting is that it goes out of print and into the hands of third party sellers. I've been hoping the Stargate boxsets will come down bit, they're very expensive.

Just keep checking on the pricefinder sites.

Other than that you've got to weigh up the pros and cons of buying separately, the trilogy was £13 the other week.

Prices have dipped below the OP's mentioned price very often.

Do your pricing homework, support the distributors and the format and just buy it or you'll never buy anything.

I got all three of the original series for less than £100 when they were on offer at Sainsbury earlier in the year. I'm sure the price will come down in a couple of years in readiness for new issues in 2116 for the 50th anniversary

i WILL get them but when both sets drop to around £30 each for each box...i cant go without seeing the extras and first contact in 1080p for too long

Yeah, I was about to say that. It has only gotten as low as 65GBP at Amazon UK though - which it was when I got it.
