Default Alien Anthology upgrade?

Hi guys

I have the opportunity to buy the Alien Anthology here in the uk for £16.99 about $27.00.. I have the old dvd boxset , do i upgrade?? Is it worth it for the picture quality? are the Theatrical and SE films all of good picture quality..

http://www.play.com/DVD/Blu-ray/4-/1...rlrefer=search

How does Alien 3 TC and WP come out.. I love Alien 3 btw..

Would be good to get some info before buying..

Plus is there any difference between the US and the UK versions??

Thanks in advance..

There's no difference between the UK and US ones aside from the packaging...and the UK version has the superior packaging. It was a steal when I bought it for $55 and it's an amazing value at $27. It's probably the best Blu-Ray release yet. Get it.

Hi buddy.. I don't think this is steel , it's probably been re-packaged for a budget price...I just have a problem paying for the movies and getting the same extras I have with the dvd boxset..

The package is pretty standard. A thick 6-disc case inside a nice slipcase. That's a secure package. And you get all of the extras from every release - laserdisc, DVD Legacy, and DVD Quadrilogy, in addition to new features and of course the huge improvement in PQ/AQ. $27 is a steal for this set and if you think otherwise, you're loco

The UK version has recently been re-packaged in an clear amaray with no slipcase.

I have the original digipak/slipcase release.

I suppose it depends on how important the packaging is to you, as to whether you want to pick it up.

I also have the UK DVD Quadrilogy set, and the Blu releases are a marked improvement. Certainly some of the best BDs I own.

I didn't know they dropped the slipcase. I too have the original digipak release and love it.

Still...$27 is a great deal in any packaging. Content is more important than packaging.

If you love your dvd set then i really can't recommend the blu ray set enough.

The first 2 films are stunning transfers & the other are pretty good aswel.

The Bonus Features are not what you're paying for initially! What you're investing in, is the superior overall HD quality of the movie in the blu-ray format.

The only thing you are missing is the superior US packaging. Gorgeous in any way.

A member posting about wanting more extras with a nickname for steven (my name) and my birthday year. It mentions the Alien Anthology which I already own, and which I have posted some history about.

Why oh why couldn't it be five discs? Could have chucked the dvd special features discs and stuffed the blu's in their place for a blu/dvdcombo in the cool looking dvd packaging (functionally is's super annoying but that's not important).

I received the UK set two days ago and it has a slipcase. The PQ is out of this world. Definitely worth the upgrade.
