Australia Name your best and worst blind buys

Worst:
Bruce Lee my brother
Secret Window
Hobo with a shotgun
The Beyond
Deep Red

Best:
I Saw the Devil
Inside
The Onion Movie (DVD)
I have at least 500 more because I buy 80% of my titles blind

The more you sweat in training the less you bleed in battle

Most recently, Anonymous. It wasn't bad, just shouldn't have bought it.

Worst offender of all time was Strange Wilderness on DVD. I removed to from my database and either threw it out or gave it away. Horrible, horrible film. And I love Happy Madison films.

Hereafter. I've enjoyed most of Clint Eastwood's work post 2000s but this one wasn't of the same quality as the others.

All good films.

Mine would have been Sucker Punch.

2012 .......that was just bad.

Armored wasn't a whole lot better.

These are the two movies that I wouldn't buy again if I had a choice.

I actually have quite a good track record with blind buys. I tend to do a as much research as possible before buying them so that could help but yeah, I typically enjoy most of my blind buys. Some that do stand out though:

Warrior (had such high hopes for this but was unimpressed)
Safe House (had a feeling it wouldn't be too great)
The Illusionist (after searching for SO long for it on Blu only for it to end up on eBay after one watch lol)

I almost got this today seeing as there was a Steelbook of it at JB's sale, and I've never really seen one before.

Of the blind buys I have watched, I didn't enjoy Fargo at all. Thank goodness it was only $8.

The Red Baron, picked it up before I knew it wasn't correct OAR, the movie might be good but have never watched it because of this reason.

Other than The Land of the Dead, I don't dislike any blind buy I own. Except for some of the shitty women titles in my collection that my fiancée blind bought

I guess expectations can play a big role in your enjoyment of a movie. I know mood can also play a factor.

Gotta say though I loved warrior and sucker punch. Both were blind buys.

I know Sucker Punch is a really polarizing movie though. Most either love it or hate it.

Certainly Omega man, there's classics and then there is uninspired trash.

I had real issues with Scott Pilgrim on first viewing (enough to win tickets through the Quickflix Head 2 Head reviews with Simon Miraudo), but on subsequent viewings I have grown to really love it.
