Anyone know when and if open range will be released on blu?

One of the best westerns i have seen imo.

And one of the best sound mixes I've ever heard.

Before he hangs it all up, I hope Costner has another Western in him, as he clearly has a knack for the genre.

He had the chance to do that with Django Unchained, unfortunately he had to pull out.

Still no word. It's available in France and is region free, but the transfer is mediocre.

There's other editions like this German

but Region B only

The Scandinavian one is an option as I've tried that on my Region A player and it played without a problem. It is just the film unlike the German set but the extras on that, as nice as they are, is 50Hz anyway.

That said both the Scandinavian and the German BD look a bit processed and I noticed a little bit of banding early on in both discs. If a US BD does get released I'd double dip if it improves on these.

I meant directing, not acting (although he's got a Gary Cooper quality that serves him well on screen in western films).
