Default Tchaikovsky: Was "Nutcracker" really about Lucy?

Being a fan of classical music, and Tchaikovsky in particular, I am looking forward to getting this title:

The Blu-ray.com description makes the title more intriguing:

Tchaikovsky: Suites from Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker (2011)

Lucy is a young university student possessed by a kind of radical passivity. She lets a flip of a coin decide the outcome of a random sexual encounter and she displays an uncomplaining patience when facing the repetitions of her various menial jobs that fund her studies. One day she answers an ad in the student newspaper and interviews for a job to be a lingerie waitress.

Sounds like a less violent knock off of Sucker Punch. But what does it have to do with Tchaikovsky? I'd just buy the BD for the audio.

Hi mate,
That's given me a big laugh - thanks for posting it!

(Can't imagine what Pyotr Ilyich would have made of it!)

Uh, think someone in the website department got their Blu-ray Sleeping Beauties mixed up.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1588398/

(Thought this was going to be a historical thread about Tchaikovsky:
He hadn't written Nutcracker about anyone in particular--as Fantasia reminds us, in fact, he wasn't even that crazy about it--but the original ETA Hoffman did write Drosselmeier based on a real family friend, a watchmaker who dabbled in philosophical Age-of-Enlightenment science...Also showed up in "Coppelia", too.)

Just when I thought I knew "the story behind the music"...
