Meh...don't worry about that downer post. I think the movie is pretty hilarious and I have been wanting it for a long time on blu-ray. I think it will come eventually.

Looks like it might've been added to Vudu somewhat recently in hdx and was available in hd before then on iTunes. A blu would be nice but not sure if Warner would be interested.

Just got this for $5 through md2d and so it'll probably be announced for blu soon with my luck.

Yeah, if streaming is the only outlet, hopefully it's not a DVD upscale to HD, cause my player will do that with my DVD. Anyone seen the streaming HD currently circulating?

It's Warner Bros and they do not license to Kino. Neither Warner Archive Collection or Shout Select will release it.

Why won't Warner Archive release it? I hope they get to some 80's comedy classics like this one, Burglar, Hot To Trot, etc.

Warner Archive did released One Crazy Summer and Night Shift and I like to see Burglar as well. I'm still waiting to announce with Stroker Ace, Cannonball Run 2, Moving, Disorderlies and more.

Same here. Any movie with Robin Williams though always has a shot at getting a BD release.

Feels like a while ago since Popeye was released....looks at release date...yeah more then a 1 and 1/2 years ago.

I would love this on Blu-Ray. I remember I lived in a small town outside of Toronto and this was the only movie that was playing at the cinema in the summer of 1986. So, my family and I ended up watching it at least three or four times.

The soundtrack featuring Jimmy Cliff is also very rare.

I think the release of this film is held up because of the Jimmy Cliff music rights.

Don't know about that and I am not sure who actually hold the rights to the music. It could be Cliff himself or he may have sold off his music catalog, especially if he needed money at some point.

Glad you got to see it theaters, there was a lot movies in the 80's I didn't get to see in theaters.
