Australia Thor 3D Limited Edition

I've seen Thor 3D at both Big W and JB but the title says Limited Edition. Is it the 3D version that's limited or the combo or what?

And what's it limited to: the number of copies they can sell?

Not sure the numbers but a rep at JB said it may be discontuned and just a 3D bluray without DVD or DC will be avaiable. I don't think it's really limited to numbers though.

I went to JB before and they were selling the 3D blu for $49.95

What the hell happened to their early bird pricing? They ALWAYS used to be the cheapest, no matter what...

Ever since they started listing their new releases around the $35 to $37 dollar mark, I now usually check the prices at BIG W first.

My local jb were selling the 3d version for $39.98 (still expensive though), same as big w. It's bad sometimes how some jb stores don't have the same consistent pricing to other jb stores. Quite often when I visit jb stores a few suburbs away they have different prices labeled on their blu-ray movies, sometimes they are cheaper and other times they more expensive.

EDIT Never mind, I looked it up. $39.98. No thanks!

I don't get the bundling anyway. Do enough people actually use the DVD or digital copy to justify the costs and storage space of those extra discs? I wouldn't have thought so.

I got the 2d steelbook and hopefully I can find someone to sell me their 3d disc if they don't want it and I can replace the dvd in the steelbook.

I sometimes give or copy the DVD for a family member if they want it, or I rip them to my iPad if I go on trips. I never use the digital copies because the quality is bad...

I saw the Thor: Limited Edition (3D) BD at Target for $49.95 and Triple-Play Pack for $29.95, whereas JB Hi-Fi had the Thor 3D Ltd Edt for $39.98 and Triple-Play for $34.98.

I reckon $39.98 for a copy of Thor that has a 3D BD, 2D BD, DVD and Digital Copy is pretty darn impressive.

Most 3D titles are $40+ with only an additional 2D BD...

They always have higher prices with 3D new releases. And I notice a few weeks before they start a 20% off they bump up the prices too on certain items.
