Denon AVR-4311 VS. CI?

Im just wondering as im unable too find any info on this.

Is the AVR-4311 and the AVR-4311CI the same AVR?

On the US denon website all of the higher priced avr's have the "CI" appended too their name..Not so on the european site and also a couple of the most high end are missing here.

Im guessing there is no difference then.

"CI" deliniates "Custom Install".

It's a joke IMO. They put the CI in the name so that they can tell dealers that they don't sell them online.

A couple years ago the differences were negligible. I think there were more RS232 codes on the CI models and other misc custom installer things that most people just don't need.

Not sure if that statement is accurate, Denon has quite a few online dealers such as Amazon and OneCall who sell the 4311CI and other CI components.

Yeah, it doesn't surprise me. The Denon distributor "sold" it that way. It was toward the end of when I worked there so I never really researched it.

They were trying to go the Integra route and get in on that niche.
