United Kingdom Spartacus:Gods of the Arena is gonna miss a TON of extras incl extended episodes!!!

It looks like the UK version is gonna miss a ton of extras incl. ALL the extended episodes and ALL the audio commentaries and bonus features. This is unacceptable considering Spartacus:Blood and Sand to my knowledge doesn't miss any from the US release incl extended episodes. But Gods of the Arena is missing almost ALL the cool stuff incl ALL extended episodes

Yeah and to top it all of to make it even more bad is that the US release is region coded

Why suddenly skip on all the extras and extended episodes when they included all of them on BaS:m ad::m ad::m ad:

Maybe the extras haven't been fully comfirmed yet by DVDActive? If they have I'll pass.... wind on the boxset when I see it in-store!

Update: Here is all the stuff passed by the BBFC at this time.

what does this mean. You only listed the episodes and extras. It does not say they are extended or that they have commentaries

I have the UK set of Spartacus: Blood and Sand and the cover never mentions the extended/enhanced episodes even though they are present on the discs, plus the UK set has the audio specs on the cover all wrong. Comparing the list of extras for the UK set on DVD Active to the extras listed in Blu-ray.com's review of the US set, it looks to me that pretty much all the extras are there (although audio commenatries are not listed on DVD Active, but as I said the First Series' specs on the UK cover weren't true to the contents on the discs either, so I wouldn't be surprised if the releases were identical again minus MovieIQ maybe).

Edit: josuv22 put it even more nicely

AWESOME. Thanks for the good news

I thought something was fishy it wouldn't make sense that the BaS would be identical to the US release complete with audio commentaries and extended episodes. Happy to hear that this is the case with GOTA as well

For those interested in the UK release of Spartacus: Gods of the Arena, here's a confirmation of what's on the UK set (from the set itself):

To cut it short: The set has the same features as the US set reviewed here. The only difference is that the UK set does not have Preview of other Starz titles.

The language department: the UK set only has English Dolby TrueHD 5.1 sound and English SDH (the back cover again wrongly states Dolby 5.1 for sound and mentions no subtitles).

The menu structure and look are the same as on the previous season's release, just featuring the images from this series.

All episodes are extended, apart from the second one. No enhanced ones this time.

Hey.

I'm wondering if there are anyone here who've bought Spartacus: Gods of the Arena from Amazon.co.uk (or has the same edition as them), who can check if there are any subtitles on the DVD/blu-ray? The website doesn't state this, and contacting Amazon give contradictory answers.

Thanks in advance all.
Cheers.

Hi Morridini.
Yes the UK version of Spartacus: Gods of the Arena has English SDH subtitles. Please see my post above. I bought it from Amazon.uk. Hope this helps

Ah I feel like an idiot now, had to look up on Wikipedia what SDH stood for, and it bloody well meant subtitles... Could have saved me some time if I figured that out earlier.

Thanks alot mate, will order it now, not being a native Englishspeaker really make subtitles a nice bonus.
