As many of you know, I've been working through some fairly important A-Levels
![]() ![]() My UCAS application got sent away for processing last week, which I thought, "Well, okay, now starts the waiting game" However within a day, I've got two e-mails saying my application had been received, and a further 2 the next day. With a questionnaire needing to be filled out for Westminster University to filter out the students worthy of going. This week I've got invitations to two interviews (both of which I have to reply to with full portfolios early next year or else my application will be aborted). ![]() What is it I do, the two replies I have are for back ups in case Westminster doesn't work out for me (which I doubt will work out for me), but I've been constantly told not to reply to anything until I have received replies from all universities. But with deadlines so early for the two of them (also considering the Christmas break in between) and Westminster telling me they won't get around to considering applications until next year. ![]() I guess all this just tells me how unprepared I am for it ![]() |

I never went to a university, and to be honest, I never really wanted to. I'd heard all the stories of pompous professors, sleazy parties, and very intense loads of coursework...it just didn't seem like anything I wanted to be involved in. So, I went to a local community college for a year, and quit after that.

here in Finland we have very hard and rigorous tests. one have to read many many books. and still your previous school levels have to be very good. our system sucks ass. for example in Germany everyone can enter uni, but only those that study and show progress can continue. that is way to go. whats the point to learn books by heart just to get in, that is not learning... I wish you luck ! |

I was the only one out of all my mates that didn't go to Uni, even though I was expected to due to my supposed academic ability. They spent years doing their PhDs, doctorates etc., and some of them are still in debt 10 years later from it ! While they were studying, I was out partying and seeing the world, and somehow I've managed to end up in a better position than any of them lol !! |

I went to college and it was one of the best experiences of my life, I learned a lot and it has helped me a lot with my career. I love school, love it, I just finished grad school and if everything works out as I hope it will, I'll be back to school in a few years.
![]() I think college is always a great option, your best option. Education is always important. Always! But the question I have for you now is, why do you think Westminster won't work out for you? |

I don't think Westminster will work out because it is a very popular course with over 1000 aplication per year and only 56 places, it's highly competitive and I feel unlikely to be accepted over the masses. |

There are no shortage of higher education institutions in London; is there a reason why Westminster was chosen over, say, Greenwich or Kingston or Middlesex or any of the 18 other major universities?
