HDMI cables .. - Blu-ray Forum

wanted to get v 1.3a from monoprice since all ive heard is good things and all i see is low prices but

which ones? the ones on the very top of the page?
"High-Quality 24AWG HDMI 1.3a Category 2 Certified Male to Male Cables"

or

the other ones w ferrite cores? and what is a ferrite core?

It should not matter since they went through the cert process they should pass the signal the same. And the only reason I say should is because the testing is rigged in and of itself. Since all they have to do is send a sample of it to test and that sample can be 1ft for a 100ft cable.

All certifed cables shoud transmit equally.

A ferrite core is designed to prevent interference from non-shielded cables. Unless you are running extremely long runs of cable you probably won't notice any type of difference with or without the cores.
