Default Star Wars: The Clone Wars - The Complete Season Two Blu-ray

Star Wars: The Clone Wars, The Complete Season Two Blu-ray

Star Wars: The Clone Wars, The Complete Season Two Blu-ray Review

Star Wars: The Clone Wars, The Complete Season Two Blu-ray Sept 13, 11

Sorry if I missed it, but I don't see any other post about Season Two

from sw.com

The Force is back and better than ever -- in Star Wars: The Clone Wars The Complete Season Two, coming to DVD and high-definition Blu-ray Disc October 26 from Lucasfilm Ltd. and Warner Home Video. Featuring cutting-edge animation and a host of special bonus materials, the comprehensive collection explores the farthest reaches of "a galaxy far, far away" with all-new adventures set against the spectacular backdrop of the Star Wars universe.

Relive all 22 Season Two episodes -- featuring bounty hunters, space pirates, giant monsters, mind-controlling brain worms and the return of Boba Fett! -- and then dig deeper with the ultimate look behind the scenes of the hit TV series. Bonus features include a look inside the Lucasfilm vaults, with featurette interviews along with Director and Artist commentaries on each disc. In addition, The Complete Season Two will include a 64-page production journal with concept designs, original sketches and notes from Supervising Director Dave Filoni. And exclusive to the Blu-ray disc, The Jedi Temple Archives provides in-depth access to an extensive database of creative materials.

"Everything's improved since the first season -- the stories, the animation, everything," said Filoni. "It's bigger and better, and it's going to look great in high-definition. We're all just so proud of the series, and I think it shows; we're bursting to share our production secrets, so the features are just full of fun insights from behind the scenes. As a fan, this is what I'd want."

Created and executive produced by George Lucas, the first-ever TV production from Lucasfilm Animation explores the tumultuous time between Episodes II and III, expanding the scope of Star Wars beyond anything seen in the feature films. With the fate of the galaxy hanging in the balance, the heroes of the Republic -- including the valiant Jedi Knights and their loyal clone troopers -- fight bravely to repel the attacks of the evil Separatists and their droid army. With fierce battles, expanded storylines and ground-breaking animation, this is a Star Wars adventure that is bigger, bolder, and more intense than ever before!

Star Wars: The Clone Wars The Complete Season Two will be available October 26 for the suggested retail price of $44.98 for DVD and $59.99 for Blu-ray.

Special Features:
Star Wars: The Clone Wars The Complete Season Two is presented in widescreen with English, Spanish and French 5.1 DTS audio and English, French and Spanish subtitles. Bonus features include:

Behind-The-Scenes Featurettes on each disc
Attack of the Zillo Beast
Magic of the Holocron
Return to Geonosis
Creating Mandalore

64-page production journal that includes early sketches, artist notes and concept art from Season Two of Star Wars: The Clone Wars

Blu-ray Exclusive -- The Jedi Temple Archives
An extensive database exploring special effects footage, early concept art, 3-D character and object turnarounds and early animation. The Archives is a rare look at the assets in various stages of creation for The Clone Wars, with a wealth of surprises and never-before seen moments sprinkled throughout

Sounds pretty cool, I'm excited about S2 on blu-ray and S3 airing on CN in the fall...

Sounds great, but why is it that both CW's don't come with lossless audio?

Because they're WHV releases?

With the mention of the 64-page journal, I assume it's a digi-book to match season 1, correct?

*disregard* Just went to SW.com and saw the picture.

Interesting they switched to a DTS track while the first had Dolby Digital. Sounds like this will be a digibook as well!

Yeah, I like the sound of DTS over DD too! I'm also assuming the AR will be 2.35:1 on this set like the first season.

Hopefully thats just MSRP price and it's going to be cheaper when it comes out.

Edit: it is suggested retail. I'm hoping around $30 like the last one on release day.

Awesome. Love this show. I missed most of Season 2 because I was without CN HD. I look forward to watching these in a better format than the streamed episdoes on sw.com.

October 26th is also the same day that Force Unleashed II comes out.

Well if Walmart has a sale like they did with Season 1 then yeah you might find it for $28.96 during the release week. That's what I got Season 1 for.

This reminds me that I really need to watch season one. Part of me hates Star Wars anymore, but the another part of me will still buy everything that comes out. Hard to reconcile the two. So many memories attached to Star Wars that it's worth it for me based solely on nostalgia.

I cannot wait to get this. I haven't been watching season two since it's been put here in Canada on Teletoon which first of all is not in HD and they show episodes out of orders and mix with reruns.

I too hate the cover. I was hoping they keep the theme of clone trooper characters as this is well...The Clone Wars. I do like how they are keeping repetition with the digi-books and the same type of backgrounds but Yoda really? He unfortunately did absolutely nothing this season. I would of been fine with Pre Visla, Bane, Rex or Obi-Wan. Not to mention Yoda is one of my least favorite models from the show.

I do hope we get commentary on each episode, I'm sure its there and they just didn't mention it. Without a doubt a first day purchase blu-ray wise for me though.

Surely that cover is just a mock up, it has to be! If not then it is the most uninspired artwork they could have done! The first seasons cover is outstanding.

It mentions it:

"....with featurette interviews along with Director and Artist commentaries on each disc."

probably the same as season 1 like 6 minutes on each ep.
