Black Xmas (Black Christmas) Remake 2006

Can anyone anywhere that has purchased Black Xmas 2006 remake please confirm whether or not it is Region Free?

It seems it is region A only, sorry to inform you. One thing I need mention, if you have a multi region player, the video/audio seems to be sped up and I can't figure out why. I have the DVD and it's normal but the blu-ray seems to be faster. The picture quality is fantastic, even with the 1080i resolution. It's the R Rated cut but there isn't much missing, to be honest. Anyway, it's sort of a mixed bag of a release. Does anyone else notice the sped up audio/video?

I can't figure out why this film hasn't been released on Blu-ray in the US. Who currently holds the rights to it? I'd love a 1080p release of the unrated cut - like the US HD DVD release.

Weinstein Company owns the rights to this and they don't really care about catalogue titles, so I don't see this getting a release anytime soon.

Bingo, almost everything controlled by the Weinstein Company will not be getting a Blu-ray release.

Id love to have this too, but I'm unwilling to pay over $120 which it is listed on amazon for... Or $999 for a used copy. A year ago there were several for around $20-$30. I knew I should have bought it!!

Yup it was. I remember my brother ordered it from amazon for
$25 and I told him he was crazy spending that much. Now look at the price lol. His came sealed and had no French writing on it.

Hey I don't know if anyone cares or not or why they don't like it maybe it is 1080i. I don't have it yet but for $7.50 shipped to U.S. from INETVIDEO I'm not going to complain. It is the 2008 version by TNA I think. I'm not sure the company but it is the 1st Candian release.

Nice how did you manage that one? oh nevermind i see it on the that website. Looks to be out of stock. I would have bit on it for that price. never ordered from that place.

Sorry man I didn't realize it was out-of-stock but I didn't go back to check after I snagged it. I would just check back since it is Halloween time. They are not bad. Usually about a week delievery. I haven't had a problem with betwwen ordering from them on Ebay, Amazon, or Directly through them. They have some pretty good deals sometimes if you don't mind the candian disc.

The price on amazon.ca was dropped today to 8.99cnd. With shipping to the US it ended up being about $19.00. Im skeptical if i'll ever get it though, since the shipping time says 1-2 months and I'm pretty sure its out of print. Worth a try though i guess :/

It's a nice transfer, but unfortunately, it's 1080i and the R rated US theatrical cut. The US HD DVD is 1080p, unrated, and a noticeable (positive) jump in image quality. It's pathetic that this film can't get a 1080p unrated Blu-ray release in the US.

Good movie. I ordered this last month from Amazon.ca and it arrived about a week later (I live in Wisconsin). It cost me about $20USD with shipping. Shipping was like 9 bucks but I had to have this on blu.

Yeah I was wondering the the German release that has the "blood packaging" (linked below) is unrated for sure and if it's a worthwhile upgrade over the US unrated DVD.

It seems like the company reprinted it a while ago so its not rare anymore. Before that it was rare.
