I'll be buying a standalone player for watching Blu-ray movies and the PS3 for my son which I'm sure he'll want to use for watching movies as well since he did the same with his PS2.

I'll be using my ps3 (atleast for a while) for my living room setup. My masterbedroom setup will play host to the BDP-S1.

The PS3 will be my only Blu-ray or HD disc player of any type for the forseeable future. Until a clear winner becomes apparent and until players clearly show themselves to be superior to the PS3 for disc playback it will be more than enough.

Yup, will be buying a PS3 for Blu-ray movie playback primarily with occasional gaming. Will wait until Blu-ray standalone players reach mass consumer adoption pricing before I go that route.

blu ray isnt the deciding factor on my buying a game system...because I know they'll half-ass the player anyways...

but if I had the player...I'd definately buy movies..

I always wonder where these psychics and their incredible foresite comes from.

Obviously not from history, since the DVD player in the PS2 was comparible to other DVD players that were released at the same time.

I won't be purchasing a PS3... I'll have the BDP-S1 for the playback of blu-ray discs.

Yes I will.

Because the next time I buy a Blu-ray device would be in 2008-2009.

So the PS3 would be first and only Blu-ray drive for a year or two.
