France Summer of Sam

Spike Lee's Summer of Sam has received a preliminary release date for the Gallic markets: April 11. Courtesy of MEP.

Quote:
The dynamic John Leguizamo (Spawn, Executive Decision) is teamed with Academy Award winner Mira Sorvino (At First Sight, The Replacement Killers) in an electrifying, must-see movie that takes you back to New York City's infamous summer of 1977! The heat is soaring to record highs, blackouts are filling the streets with looters...and the murders of a man who calls himself the Son of Sam are gripping the giant city in fear! As friends in a small Italian neighborhood become obsessed with the idea that the Son of Sam is someone nearby, the madman's fearsome plague of terror becomes the catalyst that prompts relationships to fall apart and trust to disintegrate into dread! Also starring Adrien Brody (The Thin Red Line) and Jennifer Esposito (I Still Know What You Did Last Summer), this powerful motion picture tells the gritty and hard-edged story about one nightmare season in the city that never sleeps!
p.s. He Got Game also has a preliminary release date: April 11.

From what I read, 1080i and quite bad PQ.
Don't remember about the region locking though, but I think it is Region locked B.

Same for He got game.

That is a shame... I remember working as a projectionist when this film was released and I can't recall but I think it was 8-9 reels long I think 8 but I remember vividly going into the theatre a lot watching different sections of the film and it was one of the first times I noticed film grain and SOS had it plenty. It also created such atmosphere and a feel to the movie that I liked.

I really hope it gets a decent blu release sometime somewhere.

Default SoS 12/06

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Summe...Blu-ray/73007/

the 2012 bd was quite bad, interlaced 50i :/

There is a new release from a different studio out this week. Anyone has any idea if this is a different master? The bluray.com entry says it's 50i too but I'm uncertain if that info has been verified.
