There is no need to put a capital letter for every word :/

Hope you find my reply more helpful than the one above!

I bought the Toshiba BDX1200KB a month or two ago for less that £50.

It's not region free out of the box, but if you type in to google for a hack it's simple to find. I downloaded a file on a memory stick (something I'd never done before) and from beginning to end it took less than 5 minutes.

You can change the Blu-ray region, the DVD region or both. So far it plays everything perfectly (even DVDs with RCE) and is pretty quick with load up times so I'm very happy.

Problem with that player is its had quite a few discs now that skip during playback. Reason I counted it out in my own search.

EDIT: Some discs with the issue (source)

Columbiana (Entertainment In Video) - UK
Donnie Brasco (Sony) – US / UK
Drive (Icon) - UK
Kill List (StudioCanal) - UK
Melancholia (Artificial Eye) - UK
Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy (StudioCanal) UK
Transsyberian (Icon) - UK

It's a shame that multi-region players aren't more available at a reasonable price. Sometimes I think buying a US player is a good option or at least a US PS3!

While this thread is here, can anyone tell me if there's anywhere I can send my Sony BDPS570 off to be modded for all region Blu-ray playback?

I've had a look at multiregionmagic.co.uk and they don't seen to offer mods for my machine.

I haven't been lately but http://www.dvdworldusa.com used to sell region free players.

http://www.dvdworldusa.com/region_a.asp

There is a phone number there to call. You should be able to work something out. I don't know the prices.

Bought mine from here 2-3 years ago as i didn't want 2 separate blu-ray players.

http://shop.ebay.co.uk/multi-system/...id=p4340.l2562

No problems what-so-ever with discs, money well spent and haven't regretted it one bit.

http://www.stegen.com sells region modified blu-ray players. They are very dependable, I've bought two region modified Panasonic players from them and have never had a problem playing a disc.

This is an odd response, but why do you need a region free player for A,B and C i mean i only use A and B what did you want C for i have never used it, will you be watching any Bollywood films, anyway my player is a Philips BDP3000 and it can play region A,B or both you just have to change the firmware on it.

If you don't want to waste your money, buy two BD players. One for region A and one for B. You don't need an ABC free player unless you're into Russian and Indian etc films.

Which is exactly what I did. Grabbed a US PS3 for £80 and that was in 2010.

If you can, get a Technika Blu Ray player from Tescos. I got mine last year from their ebay store for £40! It plays region A and B blus very well and all you need is to input a code into the remote to change regions.

Cheapest way I could do it:

1. Buy a Panasonic player
2. apply for enhanced firmware at http://www.firmwareinfo.com (make sure to apply exactly following their procedure and do it timely: meaning stay behind your computer and complete the whole process)

Went through without a hitch and now my DMP-BDT310 is region selectable both for DVD and Blu-ray

I would definitely not recommend this.

Seconded. Doesn't he charge you too? And again for the updates? We shouldn't be supporting this guy.

Get a Toshiba player and upgrade it to the Australian firmware for free as mentioned above. The AVForums has guides to help you.
