Default Sale Question....

Alright, so we are seeing a bunch of sales recently, BB, CC, Frys, and now Amazon. So my question is, should we expect another MAJOR sale come closer to Christmas? I would imagine that Amazon would have one last big sale either price cuts across a ton of catalog or maybe a B1G1F or B2G1F....

What do yall think?

well amazon is having a B1G1F now and theres no reason why anyone would have a promotion before christmas... what you should really get excited for is boxing day lol

This sale is clearly designed to counter Transformers (or at least control its damage). I don't know that I would expect another sale of this magnitude before the holidays, since Blu-ray has a formodible lineup every other week from now until then.

Individual retailers may indeed have sales, but I don't know that we'll see another studio-wide BOGO offering before the holidays.

seriously, with the high instore prices of bd's (especially new releases) these promos are more than welcomed

Yep. HD DVD will have the first $200+ million summer of 2007 blockbuster releasing, so it makes sense to counter that now, but the Blu-ray camp might not need one later, with those big summer blockbusters of their own out there (especially if a $399 PS3 shows up).

Does anyone know if I buy the same title at Amazon and BB can I open the one from BB and just return the one from Amazon to the BB store? I wouldn't normally do that, but since there are such big sales I want to ensure that I get the titles that I want plus having the sale count towards Transformers week.

Should all the titles I want be in stock tomorrow? I just want to make sure I get The Prestige. I waited a couple of hours on the $9.99 sale and I missed out on The Patriot and Black Hawk Down.

There may be another one by one of the exclusive BD studios when Shrek 3 is released. I see these sales as a "take that" to Paramount for jumping over.
