United Kingdom Play.com BOGOF

Found this buy one get one free offer. Various titles priced at £13.99. So at £7 each some may be worth it, others not so much. You decide!

Just looking through the first few pages it seems to be stuff thats available elsewhere for between £5 and £7 each, might be a bargain or two in there somewhere

That offer is completely pointless,
putting prices up before putting them on BOGOF

...pass

They cranked the prices up then called it BOGOF. You end up paying pretty much the same price as before.

If there was anything worthwhile in that offer, I'd be tempted.

Might get Armageddon, but it needs to be a much, much lower price...

I would be much happier with Buy One, Ship Stateside (BOSS).

All the titles look like the ones that were in the 2 for £15 a few weeks back, they did the same with those by putting the price up first.

Nearly all of these titles were part of the 2 for £15 sale that was happening a week or two ago. So if you get BOGOF on something that is being sold for £13.99 you are actually getting a better deal than the 2 for £15.

If you are just buying one item then you are getting ripped off (unless they are available at a cheaper price outside of the offer).

Just before the 2 for £15 deal came in you could get The Big Lebowski and Cape Fear (1991) for £5.95 each, then they put the prices up to co inside with the offer and now there slightly cheaper in the BOGOF deal. Most of the titles in there used to be cheaper. So you're not really getting a bargin

Offer has now changed to "2 FOR £14"
So £7.00 each if you buy 2 or more titles.

Obi-Wan Kenobi got smart in his old-age.

I think Zavvi had an offer on the other week which included titles which were more expensive to buy as a pair than separately. I always enjoy those (Buy 2 Pay More!) deals....

Play.com ain't fooling anyone though. The Incredible Hulk 13.99?

Now if it was those Steelbook™ Exclusives in the offer then we'd be talking! That would go down well....

I used to use Play a lot, but now I only buy from Play when I absolutely have to, i.e. exclusive SteelBooks. This deal does nothing for me.
