Hands down? That's tough, but I'd definitely have to go with The Matrix.

Tough question....... and at least for me, the movie has got to have a great, memorable bad guy.

Off the top of my head:

Matrix: Just fantastic all around, lots of action, but Hugo Weaving nailed that all important bad guy in Agent Smith.

Die Hard: Again, fantastic all around with lots of action, but Alan Rickman stole the show as Hans.

It's gotta have a great bad guy for the genre to work well. It's gotta be someone you love to hate.

what is a "shooter"? Just any movie with shooting?

One of my favorite shoot-outs in all the movies I've seen is the final shootout in Way of the Gun. I love that flick, and the gunfight is gritty and real, not slick or bombastic.

As far as the more guns-a-blazing kind of films, I also love Mr & Mrs Smith, The Matrix, and T2.

massively was hooked on Matrix and for good reason, it had a lotta action and that Lobby scene is forever going to be one of my all time favourites but as far as a shooter movie goes i would say it was right up there in my top slot.

It had it all and then some

Since you posted my personal favorite scene as far as realism, I'll post my favorite "unreal" (in a good way) scene
