Their recent release of Shanghai Joe was really good. I really wish they would upgrade more titles to Blu-ray.

No they aren't. They had some iffy practices back in the day, but not anymore. They license the films, as well create features. All discs are pressed. If they were a bootleg company there would be dozens up dozens of other films out on Blu-ray already.

Yep, I love these guys and like you I would be thrilled if more of their DVD releases made it to Blu. I mean, yeah, we all love Leone, but these parmy sprinkled cash in spaghetti westerns are crazy entertaining all on their own. I can never have enough of them in my library.

Great idea for a thread, Delta! It would be fantastic if more people knew about Wild East and their releases so we can get more on Blu.

Glad another title is coming from Wild East. They released a TON on DVD, so hopefully they can speed up the process for more titles on Blu-ray. So many good titles out there.

The trailer looks kind of pedestrian, but its only 13 bucks and I like supporting the little studios - so I'll probably grab it.

Does anybody own Requiem For Gringo? This site and DVD Compare both state it's 720p, while a review on CineSavant makes no mention of this but does praise the excellent picture quality.

I'm wondering if it's worth picking up regardless, in terms of picture quality.

This is is 720? I own it and never had an idea that it was. It looks pretty good for what it is, an older spaghetti western. It's not reference quality, but looks better than the Pecos films also released by Wild East. Not as good as Shanghai Joe, but again I thought this looked pretty good. Never even crossed my mind that it could be 720.

I ordered my Fighting Fists of Shanghai Joe blu-ray from amazon but I noticed the page for it no longer exists and it is no longer shown on the Wild East website. Did the release get pulled and/or sell out?

Does Wild East send out any emails after an order? My Arizona Colt order has been processing since 1/5. I know the release date is not until today - but I have not received any email communication on the order. Also, do they ship close to release dates? (Thanks).

Nope. It will just show up one day. That's how it's been for me in the past. Their last release was delayed by about a month, so I would expect the same thing here.

Same for me also. I had a hunch my item shipped when I signed in to my USPS Informed Delivery and saw an item listed as shipping out of NYC, and by looking at the site contact info for Wild East which lists a NYC PO box led me to believe that my copy of Arizona Colt shipped. I've never seen Arizona Colt but am looking forward to watching this for the first time.

So for those whose copies shipped on Saturday... do we know they actually shipped or just a label was printed?

Me either, i have a mediocre copy i never got around to watching. The good news is, i saw a whole lot of Fernando when i was checking it out, looks like fun. The PQ is a little closer to the PECOS double than SHANGHAI JOE. But still, their Blus are such a step up from their DVD's, and the pre-orders are reasonable, i'm good with it.. A lot of their DVD's seemed to have frame rate issues, which i can't stand to watch.
