FFS! I'd given up waiting on a UK release, so ordered the US version which has just shipped! Damn it! Will have to sell it when it arrives and pick up the UK release when it's released. Hopefully the cover art looks like the poster above as it's much better than the US artwork with Bill Murray in a dressing gown.

Would love to see this again however as with many other back cat titles, I will wait until it is around £8! Nice one, though :-)

Can it be? Momentum releasing catalog titles? I'm definitely buying this and Eternal Sunshine, and I hope that Momentum will be nice enough to release The Illusionist as well since the Region A disc is locked.

Momentum?! Crap! May as well be a cheap 1080i release then...

Funnily enough, both studios have been getting much bad press recently, there is in fact a thread in the US forum regarding Universal's poor transfers.

Now i'm no cinephile but i dont see anything wrong with the transfers for The Thing and Back To The Future, they look pretty damn good in my opinion! I havent seen The Big Lebowski yet but it cant possibly be as horrendous as they say it is.

I agree with you! There's always a lot of commotion on the US threads.

I rented The Thing on Blu a while back, thought it looked fantastic, having been meaning to purchase it for a while now. I own the Back to the Future trilogy and think all 3 look great as well!

As for The Big Lebowski, of course I haven't watched the actual Blu yet, but I'm sure it will look fine! So many pre-judgments are made regarding transfers when no one has actually even seen it yet, expect the odd few!

I'll be getting this regardless of transfer. Absolutely loved this film.

Yes but you have to ask yourself "do they look like film or do they look like video?".

Artist's impression -OK, just an impression

A great film for me. A true Japanese love story.

Will update my US HDDVD. I thought this was a great transfer but the usual suspects complained as it didn't look like Shrek.

http://www.momentumpictures.co.uk Must still have the licence for this Focus (Universal) film. It'll be interesting to see if they bring us anything new.
