Hmm, wasn't the Warner double feature blu-ray 1.85:1? I remember there being some discussion on that, since the laserdisc was 2.35:1. so looks like Shout! is going back to the scope ratio. The film was shot on Super35.

YESSS!!! I've been waiting so long for this! One of my favorites from back in the LD days. Watched it again recently as I was able to track down an Elite player off eBay and I think the title holds up. It's very early-mid 90's, but that's one of my favorite eras. Can't wait!

In one scene you can see a makeup slash appliance on someone's wrist and it immediately cuts away.

I can get rid of the current horrible WB Blu-ray. The aspect ratio was wrong, so glad they are finally fixing it.

Was any gore cut to get an R rating? I wouldn't be surprised if some was cut, since the MPAA was super strict then. But I never heard of any cuts being made.

Either way. I'm happy it's finally getting a release in the correct aspect ratio and can't wait to pick it up!

I'm guessing this will have a new scan and it seems like it will be in the correct aspect ratio finally. One of my favorite dark horror comedy films and was the very first film I watched on the black box my family got back in 1992.

Really fun slasher/comedy. Larry Drake is great. His comic timing along with his puns are some of the funniest moments I've ever seen in a film. The funhouse mirror maze scene is really cool too. Day one obviously.

The laser was a 2:1, even though it seemed a bit wider than that. I did pick up the WB DF a long time ago, but hated the 1.85:1 after having the LD for so many years. Looks like this is one of the few titles left in my list of "waiting on a decent release." Day one!

I had my suspicions when I saw the cut away from prosthetic rig, like why would they take the time to make a gore rig and not use even 1 second of it. Then I found this on IMDb: "
On episode #72 of Killer POV podcast, the director, Manny Coto, revealed that the MPAA told him he had a lot of work to do on the film before they could give it an R rating. They had to cut out a lot of the gore because the MPAA was particularly harsh on them since horror films faced heavy censorship in the early 1990s."

Would be cool to see the trims even as VHS workprint quality.

They need remastering badly, the 2nd or 3rd film in particular is DNR'd to death on the UK set.
