Default The Package (1989) with Gene Hackman

The DVD release of the 1989 Cold War conspiracy thriller "The Package" with Gene Hackman and Tommy Lee Jones was abysmal. There were no extras, and the picture quality was identical to that of the VHS. Plus, that DVD is long out of print. I consider this Andrew Davis thriller to be an underrated masterpiece of suspense and plotting. The film was released by MGM, which I don't think is around any more.

Does anyone else want to see this transferred to Blu-Ray (done well!)?
And, if MGM is gone, who would actually do the release? We can petition them.

This would be a great one for Shout Factory to pick up.

Along with Cannon's Runaway Train.

At first, I didn't know what you meant by Shout Factory, until I checked Wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shout!_Factory
Now I get what you mean.
But the question is: will they invest in a low-budget 1980s thriller that has, unfortunately in my view, a rather limited fan base? Is that the kind of film this company releases on Blu-Ray?
I don't know about Runaway Train, so I can't comment on that...
