Default Amazon CA

I was wondering if someone could advise me the most economical way of ordering BDs from Amazon CA to the U.S. to counteract import fees and shipping? Should I be looking at ordering a minimum amount of BDs or a minimum value? If so what would you recommend? Also should I be worried about being hit with an import fee if I order too much? Any tips would be appreciated.

I was under the impression USA buyers only get dinged import fees when ordering more than $200 worth of merchandise out of country.

Well that is good to know. I can easily stay under $200.00. The price for shipping is however relatively expensive for one BD so should I be looking at buying a minimum amount to get a good value from the shipping costs? Is the shipping total estimated by the value of the items or by the quantity?

Always by quantity. To clarify on quantity, a single or a 20 disc set is considered one item when they're calculating shipping. So each item added to cart is one item regardless of size or weight.

So it's $7.99 + ($1.99 X no. of items bought)

Always buy in bulk because of the $7.99 per shipment fee.

Thanks. So I probably need to find about 4 titles to counteract the $7.99 shipment fee. It's not as bad as I thought it would be. The BD I really want, which is only available in Canada, dropped in price nearly $20.00 yesterday so even with the fees it'll be worth it.

This answered my question. I was hoping I was seeing things when I came to the shipping prices (to the US). $10 to ship 1 movie is.. ouch. I hadn't ordered from them in years and it was a shock to see. Looks like I will be waiting awhile until I can order a bunch of things at once.
