What happened to the $169.99 price tag for Rock Band?

It's back up to $199.99 on amazon

amazon probably just has it wrong for now i have seen them get prices wrong up untill the day something comes out before.

amazon also has it coming out on the 20th which would be great, but just about everywhere else has it coming out on the 23rd.

I hear that the game is going to be delayed to Jan 2008, if it has not been already. Still I have not heard anything about price, I did not know it even got down to 169.99 I thought it was 199.99 all along

How are these games, like guitar hero?? It doesn't look like much fun, but it must be. I play guitar irl, so it looks interesting to me. Are these games really fun??

Man, I got turned on to it by my nephew a couple weeks ago, and I couldn't put it down! It is a blast. Even songs I don't like are fun!

I am truly ashamed when I picture myself, a middle-aged man, playing with that toy plastic guitar. But I have to!

Maybe I'm the only one in the world who isn't gonzo over them, but I was not a fan. The songs on Guitar Hero are mostly terrible, and it rewards mind-numbingly repetitive gameplay, which is the only way to nail a song just right. It was highly touted to me as a pick-up-and-play game, but I found the learning curve way too steep.

As for playing guitar IRL: my brother's an amazing guitarist, and he routinely got stomped by our other non-guitarist brother. The skillsets for guitar and Guitar Hero don't really overlap.

All that said: I'm looking forward to Rock Band. What can I say, I'm a karaoke ham. And it looks like it has actual good songs. I mean, Yeah Yeah Yeahs? Pixies? Faith No More? That beats all kinds of ass over Freezepop.
