Thanks, good news, I'll be buying it. There's a review of it on this site, & it gets a clean bill of health. In many ways a terrible film, but I like it, the music, those great Richard Williams main titles. I remember seeing it at the time, & that great film poster everywhere & the title music in the top 20. I don't know what people seeing it for the first time now will think of it.

With these MGM (well, UA really) Blu's being released over here, maybe next year we'll see It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World & The Big Country Blu's released.

I see Amazon now has this up for pre-order....for August 6th 2012! I don't think I believe that date.

I've just seen this on the telly, I must say I'd forgotten just how bad it is...It's a pass from me.

I used to think it was good, but recently saw it. I thought what a load of crap and binned the dvd copy

Less than the sum of its parts. Individual scenes and performances like Woody Allen and Orson Welles are great as is the production design and the soundtrack which features one of the best songs to appear in any Bond film, The Look Of Love. Like Caligula its a film where the story of its making is more interesting than the film itself. It might have worked much better had it been made fifteen or so years later when the Bond films had become bloated and moribund and ripe for satire.

A great Burt Bacharach music score, great Richard Williams opening credits & a classic film poster, as for the rest....oh dear!
