Lesser Known Blu Recommendations - Blu-ray Forum

Please recommend relatively unknown Blu's for everyone. They don't have to be your favorite films, just some that are worth seeing. I need to fill up my Blockbuster Queue

I'll recommend Sleuth and The Air I Breathe.

EDIT: Please only recommend films that are available on BLU.

Oh my god not that remake plz

I recommend Gattaca cause. Apparently hasn't done so well on Blu-Ray so far.

Entrapment, Syriana, The Prestige, Black Rain, Before the Devil Knows Your Dead, Dog Day Afternoon, Lucky Number Slevin (the most underrated movie of the decade), Oldboy, The Proposition.

You're in for a treat. It's not something you watch for HT experience but it's still incredible.

Also don't overlook "Young Frankenstein" (It's Frankensteeeen) the PQ is amazing, and of course it's a great movie too

Yeah, the mono track is kinda disappointing, but a good movie is a good movie.

The original audio track is mono. I have no need for a gimmicky surround remix.

This is a must see. Pacino was in his prime in the 70's. This is one of his best performances. And the film is fantastic too!! One of Sidney Lumet's best!!

Yeah speaking of Lumet's work we need Network.

I agree Network and Dog Day are my two favs from him

ps Paddy Cheyefsky's script for Network is 30 year ahead of it's time and so relevant today

I would definitely have to recommend The Signal. I loved that movie and it's got great PQ and AQ.

In addition to that, I'd also recommended Shinobi. It's got great action sequences.

These all look and sound great and are pretty good movies depending on your tastes

The Fall was one of my favorite Blu Blind Buys. It is a great heartfelt film and just awesome to look at.

Also, I can also vouch for Shinobi. It was a great purchase. The PQ isn't excellent cause they used a lot of lighting/color filters so you get some wacky colors, but this was intended. There is also some grain, but man it is really cool. Each fighter has their own special skill, their own weakness, and kinda their own reason for fighting.

One Blu I blind bought and I love is Death Race. The story is typical popcorn saturday night, manly action film. I mean, the store is just good, definitely not great. BUt the PQ and especially the AQ is fantastic.
I just love to put it on to listen to the bullets. I haven't really heard a more realistic bullets penetrating metal before.
