USA The Walking Dead: The Complete Fifth Season - August 25, 2015

Quote:
Anchor Bay Entertainment will once again be handling the Blu-ray / DVD release of The Walking Dead for the fifth season. While we don't have full details yet, we've received word that you'll be able to pick up Season 5 this August:

"For the past five years, we have followed the amazing tale of survival that is “The Walking Dead.” With the end of every season, comes the knowledge that-- for the moment-- we must part with the characters we have come to embrace. While it won’t be too long before their story resumes, Anchor Bay Entertainment proudly continues the tradition of offering fans one more chance to revisit the exciting season that was...

“The Walking Dead: The Complete Fifth Season” will be released on Blu-ray™ + Digital HD and DVD on August 25th. Just like the award winning previous home entertainment releases, “The Walking Dead: The Complete Fifth Season” will dazzle viewers with state-of-the-art video and audio presentations.

More information, including bonus feature content, technical specs, and limited edition will be available soon.

Until we meet again at Alexandria..."

Keep an eye out for my exclusive interview with Andrew Lincoln, where he looks back at the making of Season 5. He also reveals one potential bonus feature we'll see in the Season 5 Blu-ray / DVD set.

I thought it was a step in the right direction, especially compared to 4th season, but I would still say S1 was the best season.

It's tied for my favorite season along with the third. Season five started with a fantastic 3 episode run, but then the pace felt a little off to me during those
[Show spoiler]Beth-in-captivity
episodes. But it picked up in a major way during the second half the season. Absolutely in love with the
[Show spoiler]Alexandria
storyline. Picking this up day 1, then anxiously awaiting season 6.

This was one of my favorite seasons. Season two was the best, though; perfect balance of zombie action and human drama. Despite how slow the Sophia search may have seemed when it was spread out over two months, the storytelling was tight & effective at just 13 episodes and the shocks were actually earned, not afterthoughts.

And watching the Sophia search on Blu-ray makes it feel a lot less dragged out than the week by week wait.

Tough to compare a 6 episode season to a 16 episode season though. With just 6 episodes, you can jam a ton of stuff into those 6 and not have to worry about planning a B season.

Their 16 episode seasons were 1 good first episode to get people excited, one before the break one after and a so so last episode.
So they would have 3 1/2 out of the six that would be worth watching

I've been a huge fan of the show from day one, and this was my favorite season so far. Can't wait to get this on Blu-ray. Great artwork.

I'm hoping Target does another steelbook.

That would be hysterical..but yes, would give away too much. I'm thinking it will be something
[Show spoiler]Terminus related
. Can't really think of any memorable zombies that they could use.

Maybe something like a bust of a
[Show spoiler]W-carved forehead
walker for the Limited Edition?

That is a brilliant idea. You could very well be right about that being what they do.

My gut tells me season 7 at the earliest. Maybe some teasing in season 6 though. I honestly kind of dread his arrival, but in a good way...

And Kevin Durand would be great, as long as they can work it out with his "The Strain" schedule. (Assuming his character is in it for the long haul. I've only read the first book so far.)
