Germany Hugo Amazon Exclusive Super Set

I stumbled upon this during the website blackout. The translation in Chrome says it comes with "skeleton watch" and that the Hugo logo is engraved "on the bracelet".

It could come with a watch - which I don't remember in the film - or it could be referring to a replica of the clock.

Then I got thinking: why would they call the clock a "skeleton", and then it hit me: it's the automaton. At least, I hope it is.

Nevertheless, it's a steelbook INSIDE a tin box. I'm sure there's people out there who will salivate over this. Release is August 30th, and will cost around $AUD85 including postage. Pricey...but quite possibly worth every cent...

Here's the link...and here's a poster.

Skeleton watches and clocks are simply ones where you can see the workings

Germany Hugo 3D-Superset Blu-Ray Steelbook / Metalbox

This ''3D-Superset mit 3D Blu-ray, Blu-ray und DVD als Steelbook'' is now available for pre-order via Amazon.de (Amazon.de exclusive).

It costs €62,99 and it will be released 30 August 2012.

It includes a 3D blu-ray, a blu-ray disc and a DVD in a steelbook (?), which comes in a metalbox. You'll get a replica of the clock from the movie, which is, according to Amazon.de, very detailed.

I am not a German myself, maybe a German forum member can translate it more precisely.

The Metalbox looks really good though.

Pre-order it soon, otherwise it will be unavailable before release (like the Titanic boxset) .

I will preorder but hopefully the price drops. 63 EUR plus ship is way more than I would spend since I already own the US 3D release.

£51 or so i think this works out for us in UK. Kinda high and no info on how many units are to be produced? At least with Titanic we knew it was 1000 and that will become extremely sought after.

Hello,

I thought you made the existing one after my request :P.

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=198122

Maybe the title of the ''original'' thread should be changed, the title of this one fits better.

Sorry .

I have ordered as well.
I hope it is definitely a steelbook, inside that tin box though.

From the translation, I can't work out if it is a steelbook, or it says the release comes in that tin

"Contents
The world-exclusive, limited edition metal box contains the superset of the 3D-3D Blu-ray to Blu-ray and DVD as well as a Steelbook Clock, which is a replica from the time of the film. "

I've got Battleship and Snow White and the Huntsman ordered, both released 28th December this year - Battleship is 35 euros, Snow White 70, I think. For me it equals out to each set being $AUD70, which I don't mind. The problem is info is so scarce on Amazon, even with this being released in two month's time.

Both Battleship and Snow White are confirmed as Steelbooks in special sets. Nothing confirmed about what's coming with Battleship, but so far there seems to be a snow globe with Snow White, I hope a lot more to justify the higher price tag.

This is why I love Germany, they care about their fans and go to the nth degree to give fans what they want. I, to be honest, couldn't care less about steelbooks, but when it's movies I really enjoy getting treated like kings, I can't pass it up. Besides, it usually costs $40 here is Australia for a new release anyway. May as well shell out the extra $30 for steelbook and other goodies, right?

I believe it's pretty clear it's a steelbook INSIDE a metal box, similar to the JB HiFi exclusive edition of Avatar (that wasn't a steelbook though). Since Germany's major sources of movies are 3D converted ones and steelbooks, I think you've got nothing to worry about, they have steelbooks for everything, a reason why I lost interest in them.

About $80 USD, not including shipping.

Damn, I would LOVE this! Don't think I'll even think about getting it though if it's Region B

And I would be fast with pre-ordering this one.
There is a limited amount each customer can order (which is good, I don't believe there was a limitation with the Titanic boxset, which was sold out within hours...).
