United Kingdom Leicester City F.C.: 2015/16 Official Season Review -- 4 July 2016

Apparently, Spirit Entertainment Limited will release the Leicester City 2015/16 Official Season Review on 4 July 2016.

They sure as hell deserve it.

On a related note, I was surprised to actually realize that not only does this seem to be the first official season review (Premier League or not) on Blu-ray, but also, the major clubs really have not released much on Blu-ray at all. In fact, a majority of what is released about football (or any UK sport) seems to be documentaries. That's highly strange when one considers how much better HD is for watching football/live sport, and it's not as though (at least some of) the clubs and distributors couldn't afford it, either. For example, Man United's 2013/14 review was put out by 2entertain, but only on DVD, and Chelsea apparently produced both PAL and NTSC DVDs for their season review last year. Now, perhaps you'd argue that games-based releases would make even more sense than the season reviews, but even here, I can only find two, so something isn't right:

[Show spoiler]

So, I must say that this Leicester release is quite surprising, though obviously, this year was literally history in the making. I wonder if they will release the Spurs v Chelsea game that won it for Leicester, too.

Arsenal didn't bring out a end of season review for last season which i found strange because like every club they bring out a end of season review on dvd.
But i have never seen a blu ray release of a end of season review clubs just don't do it.

Well the Leicester one is obviously a big big deal. Maybe it is because they plan on bringing a film out? Nice tie in.

You are right about football Blu-Ray's. It's been DVD all the way. I would buy a lovely full HD season review in a second! (Depending on my club sealing their safety next week)

Well, one is happening now, unless Amazon were misinformed. Now, some of these sport Blu-ray pre-orders do disappear before releasing, but they usually never go live on Amazon, and I've never seen anything like that happen with football releases. I'm sure once word of it spreads, there will be a decent amount of pre-orders, and Spirit are one of the more Blu-ray-friendly labels in the UK at present, so I doubt they would pull it, unless pre-order volume was dire compared to the DVD.

For now at least, the choice is fairly easy, I'd say. The prospect of reliving Leicester's historic season in full 1080 HD Is easily worth the extra £3 for the Blu-ray, and I don't even support Leicester. I suspect someone clever has seen that potential broader appeal of this team this particular season, hence why it isn't relegated to DVD only.

Ladbrokes used common sense this year. Look where that got them.

It's textbook Hollywood Tob. The minnows overcoming all of the odds. Plus Vardy has had a meteoric rise. It's one of sports greatest ever achievements Tob.

Your right the market team behind Leicester see this as a great chance to put there season on blu ray too and sell more copies which they will.

They are working on a movie about Vardy the team behind that are the people who made the Goal movies.
He is a good player steedeel but in life that guy is something different he has no class and they want to make a movie about him as a hero for kids come on they have been great people in the past that deserved more than him look at David Rocastle he was a class act on and off the pitch.
Its a sport achievement steedeel i agree with you but not the greatest mate.
But to make a movie about Leicester no thanks.

Not far off the greatest Tob. Look at the millions City and Chelsea gave spent? Anyway, we disagree slightly on this one.

Congrats to Leicester City. Thrilled to see a league win from outwith the big four. It's like the Rocky of football. Rank underdogs knockout the opposition. I just hope it isn't business as usual next year...

Bitter Gooner. What's the matter? Not old enough to remember when you had a title winning side?

Every football fan should own this. A team of Leicester's stature might never win the Premiership again. A bit of history in your hands folks.

Well let me set you straight newbie, i am 35 years old supported Arsenal since i was the age of 5 travelled over and back down through the years spent many a fortune like any supporter who has a love and passion for one's club and let me educate you on the matter of bitter gooner. if you bothered to check in the premier league thread you would see on the night Leicester won the title i congratulated and said they deserved it from start to finish but thanks for your post when should we see your next post will it be next year maybe.
Also that discussion with another member was about the rumour of a movie being made about Leicester maybe you should go back and read it if you can read.

Well im a more regular poster and think you sound pretty bitter as well

Not the greatest sporting achievement ever? Its got to be close! Their whole squad cost the same as Ozil It could only be rivaled by Arsenal making the Champions League semi final!

OK i play along once again in the premier league thread i said congratulations on the night Leicester were confirmed Champions and even earlier when it was down to three teams going for the title i said that i would like to see Leicester win the title.
The discussion i was having with another member on here was not about Leicester winning the title it was about my feelings about the rumour of a movie being made about them winning the title.
I know its easy to assume things just the way i assume you misread my post in this case you did.
You do know their is a premier league thread you should make your post their or is all your focus on to join the Leicester bandwagon.
I said it was a sporting achievement for Leicester to win the title but not the greatest achievement ever in sport.
