ps3 region A and B

First off, I browsed through and coulnd't find anything after a few minutes of looking. Second, sorry if this is the wrong place to post, it seemed most logical to me being as its a software questions.
Does anyone know a good guide for the method on making a ps3 region free w/ pkg files and lv2 appp on some firmware 3.55? A few sites had the exact same guide, which in my opinion is poorly written, especially for someone who hasn't been in tune w/ the modding world.

A PS3 on 3.55 even if you spoof it to make it think it's 4.11, won't help you watch the latest Blu-ray releases , as they do more than just check to see what firmware you are on, so changing regions won't help much , ie: you get foreign region Blu , change the region on your PS3 , it probably still won't play if the bluray has recently been released.

works now...that is the exact thing i was saying about. many sites have that set of instructions. ihaven't modded my ps3 yet and have no clue what any of that crap means. im thinking of just selling my ps3 and buying a player that is multi region
