12/04/07: Elton 60: Live at Madison Square Garden

Haven't seen this mentioned anywhere and stumbled across it:

Looks like December 4, 2007 for "Elton 60: Live at Madison Square Garden [Blu-ray]." I watched parts of this online when it happened and was quite impressed. Figure the Blu-Ray release will be VERY sweet indeed.

Figures we'll get it about a month after the UK does. I just bought this on SD yesterday but didn't open it; back it goes.

Even more interesting is that it is released by Island / Mercury. I haven't seen them releasing Blu-ray movies before. They seams to also release exclusively on Blu-ray.

Island Records is owned by Universal Music Group in USA.

Wonder if we now will see more Blu-ray exclusive titles from Island / Mercury and Universal Music Group.

This a good thing as it means we'll probably see U2 on Blu-ray in the coming months as they are signed to Island as well. Universal seems to be doing some Blu-ray stuff (they did Nine Inch Nails' Beside You In Time). It's nice to see the music industry supporting BD even if it's taking some time.
