Out of all my Digital Copies only 4 loaded....and its odd because 2 of the 3 in the Family Guy (Star wars spoof) box set work, but the 3rd don't. They will not even load, I insert the disc and it spins and spins, stops and spins again then spits it out...not even the DVD will play. But I insert a regular DVD and it works just fine
![]() Anyone have clue why or anything to try? ![]() They aren't expired discs or anything just weird a couple worked but most don't |

On a Mac, only digital copies that specifically say they are iTunes compatible will work.
So... any that you have (like what came with the DVD of Live Free or Die Hard, or some Blu-rays even like some of the WB ones are not iTunes compatible) that don't specifically say iTunes, will not work on your Mac. Without knowing specific titles, it is hard to say. As for Family Guy... all of those were iTunes compatible... so either you have a dirty/scratched disc or were unlucky and got a bad disc that you need to exchange...for that one you could try the store you bought from OR might be able to write FOX and get them to help. |

You're welcome.
Of course I primarily buy movies that I like regardless of the digital copy... but I have learned to pay attention to whether or not a digital copy is iTunes compatible or not before I buy. Since some digital copy codes expire... IF I want the digital copy and it it iTunes compatible, then I have incentive to buy quickly before they run out of the first run copies that include it... But if I know a movie doesn't come with an iTunes compatible digital copy... I know I can wait and let that one come down in price or a sale before I buy since I'm not risking anything. |

Do you have any other problems with your Mac DVD drive? You said "for MAC or PC" but do they specifically say they are iTunes compatible? IF they don't say iTunes compatible, then nothing will happen just from inserting the disc. |

How do you try to invoke them? I typically go ahead and run iTunes, then put the disc in and wait for iTunes to recognize it. |

I'm still on Snow Leopard... 10.6.8 I believe.
I wonder if Lion could be your problem. It would be weird... Just to be safe... I know iTunes runs in 64-bit mode under Lion, while it still runs only as a 32-bit app under Snow Leopard. Just for kicks... try running iTunes as a 32-bit app and see if that improves things. IF you don't know how to do that... the easy way is to find iTunes in Finder, then right-click the icon and "Get Info"... under the General section there should be an "Open in 32-bit mode" checkbox... Note that in order to launch in 64-bit mode again, you'll have to later change that setting back. |

With as many discs as you are having problems with, I find it hard to believe you could have gotten that many bad digital copy discs... and since I know those that I own do work with the Mac...
The only things that seem to be left would be specific to your computer... either hardware or software... but I'm running out of ideas to try. |

Also, do you have another drive, an external one maybe? Something else to try if you have an external drive in case it is a drive issue. |
