Default Result of my new PS3

Well if you remember my other thread with all the hoopla on cooling units for the PS3, I wanted to inform you guys that I never used it and took it back. In fact I didn't have to use it.

I put the PS3 in the same position, same environment it was before and then ran it through what I would consider a stress test, I'm sure some of you would call it a normal day lol. I watched 3 Blu-Ray movies, and played games on it for about 2 hours and then surfed around on the internet for about 30 minutes. All of this with minimal breaks in between. The results were that the PS3 never had to kick the fan into high gear, which the other one did almost after 10 minutes of use. It kept at low speed the entire time and I was impressed. At the end of the stress test the PS3 was warm but not hot like my other one. My other one would burn you literally and made the entertainment center alarmingly hot.

So in conclusion I had a pretty bad PS3 to begin with and I can understand why some people thought getting a cooling unit was nuts, but if you would've felt my other one you would understand it was about to melt. So if your PS3 gets really freaking hot and the fan is whirling on high speed half way through a BD movie, I would be very cautious of it taking a dive soon.

On a side note I still do not believe a cooling unit will hurt your system, and no one has proved me otherwise yet
