Default Selling on Amazon

Not sure where to post this thread???

What is the best way to sell an expensive piece of electronic and PROTECT yourself on Amazon?

I recently sold an ONKYO receiver to a Buyer and he broke the AC INLET on the back of the receiver. He filed a claim against me stating that it arrived damaged. I even showed Amazon the picture of the damaged AC INLET but they still went to his favor. I now have to pay for the repair cost which is about $370.

Amazon is not a good place to sell expensive electronics because you might get your item back all beat up.

Here is the picture of the damaged AC INLET where you connect the removable power cord.

How about if you sell on Amazon and have item for LOCAL pickup only. That way, the buyer will see exact condition and agree to buy. Maybe take LOTS of pictures of the buyer standing next to the item. Showing pictures to Amazon that the buyer was at my home and seen the condition of the item. Maybe even record a video of the buyer looking at the item closely at my home. LOL!

Without solid evidence on Amazon, you will not win a case against a buyer.

You are pretty much at the buyers whims when you sell online and accept credit cards or go through a third party seller. Honestly, unless you plan to cut out the middle man you have no way to truly protect yourself from every scam a buyer may do.

If you have photos of the item before shipment without damage, threaten to file charges against him. Since it's an expensive item you may actually scare them into backing down.
