Default Calling All Seattle Area BluHeads

Fellow Audio Enthusiasts!

I wanted to say I have really enjoyed talking to and receiving advice from everyone. Thanks!

I have enjoyed it so much that I was thinking that maybe those in the Seattle area could possibly have an event. A chance to talk face to face and if all goes well maybe enjoy a movie or some tunes. Not sure how this would work out as it would be nice to have some neutral ground for everyone to meet on and also have fun. The idea would be that this might lead to a round robin of sorts. Meeting at peoples places and watching a movie or just demoing equipment. It is great to talk, read and look at pictures but where the rubber meets the road is where the joy of this hobby really comes out.

I am posting this in the speakers section because I think this is where I would find the most like minded people.

I have no idea how we could implement this. I am not even sure this is something that other greater Seattle area BluHeads (I just made that up, is that lame?) might be interested in. I think this would also help encourage membership and posting on the forums. So go ahead post a reply. Are you in the area, would you be interested? Not in the area but think this is a great idea? Or a dreadfully terrible idea? Let me know.

Thanks in advance

May the Force be with you.

I think it's a great idea, unfortunately I'm just over the east border of Washington about 350-miles away.

Well I figured might as well be somewhere nice and hot where the ladies are fine (mind you Montreal as some of the finest in the world, really it does) and where there's a beach, woman+beach is a winner for me

So what about it JJ my man?

Yeah JJ, I mean, do you really have a problem with inviting like 150 Audiophiles (ie strangers) over to your place? Also, how much does 150 plane tickets cost these days? Chump change.

In conclussion, give me your speakers.

Hey Jim, lets just not tell anyone and go to JJs, I need a vacation anyways and as strange as it might seem have never been to Florida (which for a Quebecer is not often, ask JJ what they call us down there? )

Common kiddo, be good to your elders man

I'll provide the beer and the audio set-up - gladly!

I'll assist in finding you guys women.

I will NOT be buying the plane tickets! Find your own ways down here. You guys are older than me. You've had more time to get the money!

And in conclusion, Jim - No.

Pat we call you Canadian guys - Canadians. Or "white guys" - whichever you prefer,

Summer is soon, too.

It's a great idea and several members have been able to get these type of GTG's off the ground. The longest continuous one happens to be the one between myself, dobyblue, ptplayers, morrissey and Hamilton02. We're due for another one, which I am hosting, but it's been delayed slightly.

yep for Canadians, but usually Quebecois get more obscene names, but I'll settle for Snowbirds. In Mexico it's Los tabarnacos (I'll let you figure that one out buddy).

Beer and let's say munchies and I'm in You're a good man JJ

You know what John, even though teasing here it's something I was considering for next winter, my car is only 1 year old and I love road trips and driving and have never been to Florida, it's only like a 32 hour drive (seems like much but when you think about it it's not bad when in no hurry) My main problem is that's a long trip when alone, but who knows, maybe JJ will see my ugly face one day

Default Oh Canada

There is some serious Canadian representation going on here. Do all Canadians have a love for awesome kit? Maybe I should go hang out in Vancouver?

Considering you guys are 10 times more populated, yep, lots of Canucks in this part of the forum, but the 3 largest cities (Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver) make up close to a third of Canada's total population and they're more likely to have a higher percentage of tech geeks than smaller towns. And I can honestly say that it is a great country to live in (like everywhere there are problems but in general its a "nice" country) But it's also a huge country spanning over 5,500 miles from coast to coast.

I've visited only the east, including Ontario to Newfoundland, one day, Vancouver but driving x-country.

There ya go, my little geography class, quiz @ 12:00

Vancouver here! I'd consider it if my schedule allowed. But, alas, I work Fridays & Saturdays & Sundays.
