Whats the best verison of Terminator 2? - Blu-ray Forum

The Optimum UK release is the same as the one from Japan and is region free. That's the one I've got and it looks fantastic....much better than the Skynet release.

As for the rest of the releases, they're just ok if you don't want to spend much money.

If you don't want to pay a much higher price for the import then the Skynet version is the way to go. I only paid $10 for mine new so I don't feel guilty at all.

none of them are that great.
hopefully James Cameron's rumored remastering spree will include a proper transfer of this film.

does anybody have a website that shows side to side screenshot comparison of the skynet, german verison and jpn?

damn i really like that UK cover. alot. i thought the uk verison looked like the all silver steelbook with the cyborg terminator face shown?

That's the Uk Skynet edition (aka the DNR edition).

I own the Skynet edition and that is what I am sticking too until/unless the movie is remastered with a new definitive North American release.

For reasons unknown the first squeeze LD (withdrawn version) still holds the best 5.1 mix of the film on any support ever. also the print used isn't color coded, so you can see how the Cameron footage look when shot, instead of color processed.
Reportedly, when seeing this LD, Cameron went ballistic and had it withdrawn, and replaced. The version pictured above is the replacement, the old one had Arnold face from the T2 teaser trailer, with closing T2 logo on it.

I can read here and there that the reissue with THX logo is more valuable. On the contrary, I think this one is better, the reissue is just like the first DVD would be, a couple of years later.

The THX/Rydstrom remix is crap imho the CDS track had a lot more punch

It was the first mix done for the cinema, I only have the SE of T2 on Laser and they all have the remixed sound
