I don't listen to much radio any longer as it's mostly just too repetitive for my liking. It's no longer about the DJ and listener having an influence on what's being played, or taking a chance on playing new material. Everything's controlled by advertising dollars and thereby the creation of set playlists that won't offend the advertiser. The magic of radio has left us.

I usually punch in "J.J. Cale" on Pandora, and let it go. Rarely, if ever, do i run into a song i feel like skipping. It comes up with a lot of Blues, Americana, Folk-Rock, some Jazz. A great variety of artists, too. From Bob Dylan to John Mayer, and Mark Knopfler to Gov't Mule.
If i'm not listening to this, i'm usually tuned to "Jam On" on Sirius. |

The only station I listen to is 88.9 KETR.
The reason is the dj's of the shows I listen to are in it because they love the music, period. Great shows such as: Notably Texan - Centered around Texas musicians across genres. Latin Soul - Latin jazz, soul, bossanova. A couple Bluegrass shows, Bluegrass Breakdown, and Bluegrass Review. Beale Street Caravan - Zydeco, Blues, Root Rock. And for a little comedy, A Prairie Home Companion. Mornings are NPR broadcasts. The station kind of harks back to the days when stations did not play one genre 24 hours a day. Give it a listen: http://ketr.org/ |

I usually listen to AM talk radio, but because AM reception is so unreliable and noisy, I listen to them on my Grace internet radio - Clear as a bell on there!
![]() When I'm not listening to talk radio, Trance and Ambient stations are my staple for music. ETN.fm , trance.fm, A State of Trance, Chillout Radio, etc. ![]() |

When we visit in Edmonton, I switch between The Bear 100.3 (rock&classic rock) and Sonic 102.9 (alternative).
Here in our town, our choices are pretty lame so it's Sirius all the time: Octane and Lithium. |
