Default Audio issue with The Walking dead and Onkyo Receiver

I have a PS3 Slim sending audio via bitstream to a onkyo receiver via HDMI. I am trying to watch the walking dead season 2 disc 3 and 4. During the last episode on disc 3 the receiver will click off and stop playing. The PS3 will continue playing the disc but the receiver will stop playing sound and turn off and the red power button light will blink. It also does it on the last episode on disc 4. I have exchanged the set and it still does it. I will turn the receiver back on and and it will play for a little and click off again. After it gets past a certain point though it continues to play without issue. I was wondering if anyone knows what would be causing this issue.

Sounds like the receiver is getting to hot & going into protection mode by shutting off.

I was thinking that to, but it doesn't do it any other time. I can watch tv or movies without issue. I put in either of these two discs and it messes up. I have even tried other blu ray disc with true HD sound. They play just fine.

I don't see how a Blu-ray disc could shut down a receiver. Something I have never seen / heard of before.

There is some reason the receiver is going into protection mode & I just can't see it being the disc.

Sounds like protection mode is kicking in. Check all of your wire connections at the speakers and on the Onkyo to make sure you don’t have any loose little wire sticking out and touching the opposite post or even the body of the Onkyo.

Possible whatever audio frequency happening at the end of those vids, it could just vibrate at the right/wrong way and cause them to touch.

I agree with the others...something is putting your AVR into protection mode. Are those 2 scenes very demanding? I mean, do they have a spike in volume or something similar? Since it happens to those discs only and around the same time, I think the AVR shutting off at that time is related to the disc in some manner.
