Probably gonna Head there (see what I did there) next weekend, hope there's something left for me...in particular Forrest Gump as I'd quite like that one (I don't live in Bristol but am visiting).

thanks for the heads up
aint that typical I have all 3 of those steels
tis a weird shop (got a feeling it belongs to zavvi/the hut) dont like that they sell rental copies and they dont have a great selection for blu-ray but I appreciate them all the same especially when low on funds and in need of a fix

Especially as Zavvi became Head (a different one though)

I went in there last year a number of times and wasn't very inspired. There seemed to be way more DVDs than Blu-rays, and the cheap Blu-rays were rubbish films, and other ones were a little bit overpriced. Some of the titles definitely seemed shelf worn

I always head into Fopp instead, but still go into Head on the off chance. I normally go to Bristol quite regularly, but not sure when I'll be going this year

Fopp's a chain, they have stores across the country. There's (or at least there used to be) one in Nottingham that was good for underground music and indie films...

Those steelbooks were all £5 a few weeks ago, so they've now realised they were selling them too cheap even though £7 is still very good. It's a good store for rare Disney Blu rays as well as I bought Sleeping Beauty for £13 last month as well.

There used to be a FOPP in Bath, but I'm not sure if it is still open... I haven't been back there for a couple of years.

I can remember getting some great bargains on Tartan DVDs from that HEAD store in The Galleries a few years ago. I also remember when it used to be a Virgin Megastore!

I was able to get quite a few of the Tartan DVDs I was missing from there about 2-3 years ago. Titles like Dumplings and Three Extremes for around £3-£4. A lot cheaper than they were going for online at the time

If you happen to go further south I noticed there's one in Exeter too. The Bristol store is a regular for me whenever I go up there - often have very cheap rare DVD's, or films that are very niche at very low prices. Some great bargains I've got there include the BFI Godzilla DVD, and last time I was there I got some stuff in the blue cross sale for £2-3 each. Head is not as good but occasionally some stuff cheaper in there than even Fopp (or Rise). Don't think I've found any decent blu-rays for cheap at either - although almost bought a few blu-rays in the blue cross sale at Fopp but didn't in the end.

HEAD is not independent, it's a chain store founded by Zavvi/TheHut. It currently has five locations throughout the UK.
