Default DOOM 3: BFG Edition includes DOOM and DOOM 2 - Out Now!

From X-Play:

Bethesda has a surprise for you Doom fans today, in the form of the newly announced Doom 3 BFG Edition. Coming this fall to Xbox 360, PC, and PlayStation 3 -- the series' first appearance on the PS3 -- the BFG Edition includes Doom 3, the Resurrection of Evil expansion pack, and seven new levels bearing the title "The Lost Mission." Also included are Doom and Doom. Buy this, get all the Doom.

That sums up the bulk of it. Doom 3 BFG Edition includes both the single player and multiplayer sides of the game, so you can look forward to shooting up your friends online as well. Only one gameplay tweak is mentioned: an armor-mounted flashlight. As anyone who played Doom 3 knows very well, this is a fantastic and very welcome addition.

UPDATE: Just a quick note to add here. Bethesda informs us that the seven new levels comprising The Lost Mission is entirely new content that's been created especially for this remastered edition of the game. This isn't stuff that was left on the cutting room floor back in the early Aughts. Most of you probably assumed that was the case given how much content The Lost Mission amounts to, but it's nice to have confirmation.

Nope. Sticking with idTech 4 for this one, although Doom 4 will indeed use idTech 5.

It comes out "When its done"

A release date that comes from anyone other than Bethesda or id is pointless

Bethesda has "Dishonored" coming out October 9 in US , October 12 in UK

I don't think they release Doom 3 BFG in October, because of marketing.

Looks decent, I wonder what the old games look like and whether they'll have trophy support.

I really enjoyed Wolfenstein on my PS3 and was bummed id never put the Dooms on. These are some of my favorite games of all time. Who needs story when you can have a rocket launcher turning corpses into puddles?

Trophy support is required so yes they will have trophies!

I have both the Dooms on 360 and am psyched to finally get an HD version on consoles. I never really had a good enough comp to play the game in any of its glory.

Bethesda just released the details...

The DOOM 3 BFG Edition will launch on October 16th in North America for the cool, cool price of only $29.99 (that's for DOOM 3 HD plus the first two DOOM games).
