Wink Arcania The Complete Tale PS4

Screenshot-3.jpg

Nordic Games developed Arcania: The Complete Tale for PS4 (physical disc, not sure if there's a digital version), similar apparently to the old Gothic games which I never played. A budget adventure game that's actually fun to play. You have close up center shoulder view, and a distant fighting camera view to work with.

I bought this open world adventure game for $14.99 last week on a PS4 disc and while it's rough around the edges since it's a small independent studio that made it, but the game is amusing and with each quest accomplished, the open world gets larger each time. No crashes at all 12+ hours into the game, lots of more of the map to unlock, and only minor graphical glitches occur.

Fans of the Witcher 3 would be interested if looking for a diversion, but only those who can look past some of the comical graphics (the faces of the humans especially) need apply.

I just unlocked Silver Lake and the forest is huge in this part of the game, and a sight to behold. While not as gorgeous as The Witcher 3's forests, it's impressive for a small developer.

I find myself taking a lot of snapshots in this game as I do regularly with Witcher 3.

Acquired some cool looking heavy armor from a castle near the ocean and a matching helmet I found in a Goblin cave. Fun game despite the flaws.

Anyone else give this one a try? Or thinking about it?
