PBS will release Ken Burns' new documentary The Roosevelts: An Intimate History (2014) on Blu-ray on September 16th, 2014.

The series will air on PBS starting Sunday, September 14th, 2014.

Also, if you have the PBS app (I have it via my Roku 3), The Roosevelts is also available there. I plan to watch it soon.

Great documentary, but this is where streaming format would be more preferable to Blu-Ray. With all due respect to the clean-up work that was done on archival footage and presentation, this is not the video that takes any advantage of Blu-Ray format.
This would actually sell much better if they would bundle it with book to keep as reference as there are lot of gaps in the story and the constant jumping back and forth between different Roosevelts requires very careful attention. I got confused more then once when watching it.

On the contrary it most definitely is. The photographs look amazing and will look sharper and more detailed on the Blu-ray then on any streaming service. That is important because so many of these photos have lots of small detail in them.
