Has there been any press release regarding the UK BD?
I hope this list of extras isn't final, otherwise the UK release will be missing quite a few extra features compared to the US release.

When can we expect a review? I too will be looking to go through Play's £18 for 2 offer.

Did anyone pick up Doctor Zhivago's UK BD release?
I was wondering if someone could please tell me if the UK release has all the extras from the US release, since most listings at UK online stores omit several extra features that are included on the US release (such as the 2 part documentary "Dr. Zhivago' - A Celebration")?

The only review I found online (at AVForums) only confused me even more, since the review mentions this 2 part documentary is included, but then at the disc specs omits any mention of it...

Looks to be the same disc as the US version, with the same subtitle and audio options. The new documentary is included on the BD, while the old extras are on a separate PAL DVD for the UK version.

The US release is 3 discs (the bonus CD sampler), and the UK is only 2 (BD and DVD)

Thanks. I'm glad the new documentary is included, since like I mentioned none of the online stores lists it as being included, and I can't find it listed at the BBFC.

I got this Blu-ray yesterday, UK edition from The Hut. When I opened the case, I saw that the movie disc has the title printed in French without any BBFC logos or any ratings. Presumably it is just the exact French disc.

Has anyone else had this happen? The disc is absolutely fine and it all plays in English including the menu. Just rather odd, I would have preferred a non French disc!

Just checked my copy, and it's French also never noticed that before, saying that, I've not actually watched it yet strange though, I guess all UK copies will be the same then, think I got mine from Play, that was a while ago though.

I've just come to here check that I didn't get a rogue disc as I received my copy from Amazon today

If I was really OCD then it would annoy me about the French writing, but I do own one French Studio Canal release so it's no biggie. I did notice though that the intro by Omar Sharif from disc 1 of the original DVD is missing

I was hoping to gift the disc to a family member, but I feel like I need to keep it just for that. I did the same for the original one disc release of Reservoir Dogs as that had a Quentin Tarantino introduction which I wanted to keep, and it was a bit more detailed than the one for Jackie Brown which I sold on

I just picked Doctor Zhivago up from HMV - I've been looking for the 2 disc for a while, but this seems to be a weird hybrid.

The slip looks like the new version but the BR seems like the old one. I thought the newer version of this was only 1 disc (as per the BR site listing), but the slipcase seems to list 2 discs plus a UV copy.

The BR doesn't have a UV copy... so I figure that's the old pressing. Maybe a rogue copy with old BR and new slip?

Zhivago_25th_HMV_Front.jpg

Zhivago_25th_HMV_Back.jpg

Anyone know if the latest version (with UV) is 2 disc? Obviously, the slipcase I have says so, but there was a second copy in HMV that was in the same slipcase (ie UV and 2 disc) but only had UV text on the back of the BR itself (even the red/brown strip of text wasn't there)... so, rather than risk it, I went for the copy that had 45th Anniversary on it with the mismatched slip.

I think I'll post in the Zhivago thread and see if anyone can offer a suggestion (other than a mistake by HMV staff in stacking etc).

Can anyone clarify if the latest release (with the UV) actually is the 2 disc set (BR movie with DVD extras?). The Slipcase says so, but the BR just has the UV text in the back and doesn't mention amount of discs... I'm thinking that maybe everyone has presumed the latest re-issue is missing the extras as teh BR cased version doesn't list them... where the slipcase does.

I'm presuming the re-issue slipcase is with differing artwork (ie there isn't a 45th Anniversary line on there) and it has a line of people rather than horse mounted soldiers.
