"No guts, no black puddin'"
When a young ex-con helps his friend he finds himself in debt to a mobster who sends him and another debter to find a man. The dialogue is tremendous throughout with lots of laughs and Peter McDonald handles the lead role well but Brendan Gleeson steals every scene. A BBC/Irish Film Board co-production, it took years to show up on DVD and deserves a blu ray with some extra features and a commentary from the actors. I doubt In Bruges or The Guard would have been made without this. |
