Default Any Zappa fans?

I have been on a major Frank Zappa kick lately. Any fans? I have to thank my aunt's son for getting me into them, and buying me my first album.

No problem as it is a very old one and bringing Zappa back is more than welcomed. While his style is easily open to debate, I believe that he was highly underrated on many, if not all aspects: As a musician (one helluva guitarist) as a performer (though that goes back to his debatable style) etc.

When so many outstanding musicians were propelled to greatness after their stint in his band...I guess I could go on lol

Happy trails with him, many many albums to listen to and enjoy

I go through stages where I'll listen to his music non-stop... It's like getting back to real meat 'n potatoes stuff...

One of the greatest of all time, IMO.

I do the same as there is just too much other good stuff also, but with his huge catalog, when you need some Uncle Frank, where do you stop?

Amen... Lately when I go on a Zappa kick I've really been enjoying Hammersmith Odeon '78. A live set from which the bulk of the basic tracks for Sheik Yerbouti were taken... Great sound, great songs.

Stevie's Spanking - Live in Rome, Italy 1982.

Zappa and Vai at their very best.

That is indeed a great track, and with all the respect I have for Steve Vai, and I do a lot, Zappa does spank him, it's more than the speed of the notes or anything tangible, that way so few play from the heart, not the head, Frank on this is just unf*ckinbelievable

I added the video for those who don't know which it is

It takes some serious balls to pull off the solo Vai did.

Agree, as I said, I have much respect for Vai and like him a lot, and it's nice to see him in a different context like this.
