Man of Steel 3D Limited edition problem?

I bought the limited edition 3D Man of Steel with the tin case and everything when it came out. I was going to leave it new and sealed as a collectible but I decided to open it and set everything up but the two piece "kryptonite" stand does not fit together. Did anybody else that bought this encounter that problem? Is there anybody I could contact to get those 2 pieces replaced. Since it is open Walmart doesn't replace it for me nor could they since. They don't have those limited editions there anymore.

It just doesn't fit together easily. If you aren't going to sell it use super glue. If you push it to far into the slot you can split the base in half.

The top piece for mine is visibly larger than the hole created for by about a centimeter when measures

Yea I had to sand mine a little. It didnt fit great and always fell over. I glued it also and put some double stick tape to the bottom of the tin.
