Default Universal TV Stand Problem

Hope this is the right forum. Mom brought this http://www.amazon.com/ShopJimmy-Univ.../dp/B009SD010O to use with this http://tinyurl.com/m8u3smv and the bracket that holds the weight of the TV is blocking use of all her connections on the back of the TV. I can't get a picture right now, so I drew this to help show the problem.

For now I have the TV slightly off center so she can at least use the HDMI ports, but she still can't use the components or anything else. I even purchased angled adapters and even they can't fit between the tiny space at the back of the TV and bracket. I'm ready to cut out a section of this bracket with a saw. She's going to keep bugging me to find a fix for this problem.

Easiest thing to do? Return that TV stand and exchange it for a model that's a better fit for your TV. Your TV is the non-negotiable part. Your TV stand has to be able to adapt to it.

The only thing you can do with the current stand is use, as you already stated, angled adapters. Did the stand come with any spacers to use with the mount? Try using a longer bolt with a spacer to give you that extra room. Using a good size spacer should give you a tiny bit of extra space, maybe enough to get your cables plugged in.

Have you tried mounting the tv as low on the verticle bars as you can go?

That might drop the connection area on the set below the horizontal crosspiece of the stand.

@SlmShdy1 Returning the stand would cost more than it's worth. But I did try your spacer idea and I think I'm getting closer. A full 1" spacer should give it enough room to get the connections in place. Back to the hardware store again.

@octagon The TV is mounted as far down as it can go.

Edit: The 1 inch spacers worked. I had to go to 2 different stores to find them though.
